“Jane was raised in the Australian Bush on a sheep property. It was an idyllic life where she learnt to appreciate and respect the powerful, sometimes dangerous interdependence of animals, man and nature. The images from this relationship have found their way into her work, in particular a love of the human figure.

The artist, Peter Lindsay, of the famous Lindsay family used to come to stay to paint the landscape. He would rise early to catch the light and would take Jane with him and encourage her to paint. She still has some of his brushes, which she treasures.

Jane graduated with a BA from Sydney University, married, attended John Olsen’s Bakery Art School in Paddington and went with her husband to live in New York. On their return to Australia, Jane founded Centennial Park Cycles and The Red Bike Shop and began hiring bicycles in Centennial Park, 250 acres of beautiful parkland in Sydney. ”
